Application Process
Applying and enrolling at Great Bay is simple.
The application process is the same for first time students and transfer students.
- Choose your program.
- Submit an Application. Please be sure you have reviewed the “Program Specific Requirements” for your program before applying.
- Apply for Financial Aid. All students who are formally accepted into a program may apply for financial aid.
- Complete Accuplacer testing if needed. You could be waived from testing through high school GPA, ACT/SAT scores or College transcripts – please submit those documents to be considered for waivers.
- Meet with an Academic Advisor to select your courses. Please be sure to provide a copy of your High School transcript or equivalent (GED/HiSet) before making your advising appointment.
Please have your High School and College (if applicable) transcript(s) sent to GBCC via email, to [email protected], or via mail, to:
Great Bay Community College
320 Corporate Drive
Portsmouth, NH 03801
Applicants who completed college coursework at any of the seven Community College System of NH institutions do not need to submit transcripts from those colleges.
Information about what Accuplacer testing is needed (if any) will be on your acceptance letter or on the program webpage for those programs that require testing as part of the application.
Just Want to Take a Course or Two?
If you are looking to take a course or two the process is simple. Many students begin their studies at Great Bay Community College as a non-matriculated student. Taking a single course, or even a few courses, is a great way to see if you are interested in a field. This is also a great option for students looking to complete specific courses for transfer to another school. Non-matriculated students do not need to apply for admission, and they are not eligible for financial aid. For more information contact the Advising and Transfer Center at (603) 427-7728.
